Comfort Zone                 515-294-3333      czone@iastate.edu
We can help you when your child is mildly ill in our Comfort Zone program.  Because we have a Registered Nurse on staff, you can be assured your child will receive the TLC and professional care necessary to assist them on their road to recovery from routine childhood illness.

Your child will recuperate in a home-like atmosphere with a flexible routine to meet individual needs.  Many age appropriate, quiet activities are available for your child to choose from throughout the day.  If it comforts your child to have a special blanket, toy or movie from home, please bring it along.
Who can use the Comfort Zone?
  • The Comfort Zone may be used by all members of the greater ISU/Ames/Story County community.

What do I need to register for the Comfort Zone?
  • You will need to bring a health statement and immunization records from your medical provider.  A general information form also needs completed.  Please click on "CZ pre-registration forms"  button to get necessary forms.

When is the Comfort Zone open?
  • Comfort Zone is open from September through early May each year.   Hours for this program are 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Where is the Comfort Zone?
  • The entrance for the Comfort Zone is located at the north end of the ISU Family Resource Center, the home of University Community Childcare.  Parking is available near the entry for you to use when dropping off and picking up your child.

The "Good Health" newsletter is created by the nursing staff at the Comfort Zone to share information about children's health and safety issues.  Enjoy the most recent edition by clicking on the "Good Health" button.
